Providing technical assistance to the Pacific

Providing technical assistance to the Pacific

The Pacific Technical Assistance Mechanism Phase 2 (PACTAM2) is an Australian Government initiative funded through its official aid agency, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and managed by Scope Global.

PACTAM2 advisers work in collaboration with partner organisations across six Pacific island countries. Drawing on their specific expertise, advisers provide technical advice to enhance capacity within partner organisations. The advisers’ contribution supports the achievement of partner government development outcomes and reflects the priorities of Australia’s aid investment plan in each country.

Whether they are working on a climate change initiative in Tuvalu, developing an education plan in Kiribati or supporting health in Tonga, PACTAM2 advisers contribute to poverty reduction in the Pacific by working together with local communities, while at the same time growing both professionally and personally.
